Hanne Vibeke-Holst
You can see them in your mind’seye; the young, bright-eyed pilots, who take off – the one after theother – in order to carry out their mission. They fly through the night, crossing borders and territories, filled with the courage andwillpowerthat comes from knowing that what they are doing is right.Undaunted, they plough through the clouds; without fear, they dodgeenemy fire; without hesitation, they continue towards their goal likethe true heroes of history, who know that the future is what you dreamof today. They know that someone must undertake to navigate throughchaos, that someone must dare to loose their foothold for a shortwhile, that someone must fly through the clouds to get a bird’s-eyeview of theworld, in order not to sink into earth-bound resignation. They know that without daring and ambition, it will never be possibleto find newsolutions to old problems. Risky flights are needed to turnchaos into order – and order into chaos, when necessary. And I, wheream I in allthis, as I am not the one sitting with my hand on thecontrol column inthe small, exposed cockpit? I sit in the Tower, like aflyinginstructor who makes sure that the young pilots take offsuccessfully. I give directions; I study the sun and the stars. Iincite and I ground. I am there, a voice in the ear, when the aircraftnose dives and an emergency landing is the only possibility left; but Iam also there when the wheels hit the runway, and yet another victorycan be celebrated. I am there with my cool head and my warm heart.Because I cannot imagine a more meaningful place to be, now thatdarkness threatens to swallow us up, no matter where on this Earth welive.

I am honored by the opportunity to take part in KaosPilot International. I find great interest in playful thoughts and ideas. KaosPilots International is an amazing initiative, enabling new ideas to emerge. As I see creative work as producing new ideas, I enter the board of KaosPilots International with great enthusiasm.

Larissa Sansour
Creating new modes of thinking is always harder than just following the mainstream. In my work, I often challenge cultural and social clichés that tend to trivialize our understanding of others or political conflicts. It is a pleasure for me to be a member of the International board and take part in this very exciting project.
