In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?

Less focus on quantity as in reading, exams etc. and more focus on relevans of material.

My one year old son growing up very fast!

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
Worked in a commercial school (Westerdals Schoool of Communication in Oslo)
Worked in a cloth shop whit management
Worked as a riding instructor
Started a party concept in Oslo called "Living Large" from 2002-2005

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
Proactive planning with Ouffa Rain and the personal development that we have to go through. It is challenging and hard, but i can see the "end" of the seccond semester and back at a great year.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
Work - but still don't know with what or where....

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
Learning by doing and the playfullness that we have.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
Global Warming - what can we do and where are we heading. Will there be a Denmark in 2040? The first thing we can do is to start recycling paper and garbage at our own school!

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
The year before I started at the school I was working in a local bar called Ris Ras (I am still working there by the way...) and at a school as a subtitute teacher.

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
I think what has had the biggest effect on me is when we get a chance to work with a real world client and the challenge that comes with it. When working with "clients" I feel that the motivation of doing a good job is even greater than when working on an internal assignment as there is a chance of seeing your working implemented in the real world.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?

Honestly I do not know and it has taken me quite some time to accept that I do not have a fixed goal for what I will do in three years.

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
I feel that the fact that the school offers a chance to work with real assignments with real clients is one of the things that makes the school very special and interesting for me. I believe that trying out what you learn while you learn it is extremely rewording.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
I think that it is very interesting that there is a growing focus on global warming and sustainable energy world wide - and it is about time!

Camilla Rask Misser Henrichsen

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
Before my entrance at the KaosPilots I were working as a social worker for an organization called KFUK in a well known Drop In project called Reden (the Nest). It's placed in Cph. at Vesterbro and the women attending the Drop in is involved in street prostitution plus heavily drug use of any kind.
I also have an education as a masseuse which I used as a tool in my social work field. I still do both massage and social work in my spare time while I'm doing this 3 years education to have a touch of what's going on out there!

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
The most challenging and most intense experience here at the KaosPilots so far is by no doubt when Ouafa was coaching us for 2 very inspiring days! Wau...It was mind blowing! She is so talented and a very good at gaining useful perspective on everyone around her. She is a woman I only have respect for!

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
When I finish this education I would like to start a business together with a friend of mine from Cph. An idea we are developing right now and therefore something I'm not interesting of sharing with everyone...Sorry! The only thing i can say is, that it's going to be amazing!

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
I think we can inspire other schools in many different ways. One good example could be the way we always look at the Win-Win-Win perspective in everything we do! I also find the group process very important because that's how we can share knowledge. Especially because this is an international school with a very diverged group of people with many different opinions on life and culture in general.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
I think one many interesting things happening in the world right now, is the way people from all countries finally starts to take responsibility regarding the global warming. A 2 year old project called "Polar Project" just took place yesterday. Experts from everywhere in the world will share useful knowledge and together find solutions on the climate changing issues.

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
I left primary school in Norway, Oslo and went to Peru to participate in a youth exchange and built sun catchers. The main aim was a youth exchange between Scandinavians and South Americans. The purpose of the youth exchange was; through co-operation to found a sun catcher industry and make sure it was sustainable. The location of the project was on an island named Taquile in Lake Titicaca in Peru.

My family and I moved back to Denmark the same summer and I started Gymnasium, Nørre G. Husum, Copenhagen. I Quickly became a part of the ‘Cafémafia’ at Nørre g. and was soon busy running around and arranging every thing. I went on another youth exchange in Slovenia with people from Norway, Denmark and Slovenia. This was a ‘follow-up’ from last years exchange in Norway, where we participated in the attempt to beat the world record in/with people camping outside, along a 50 km. cross-country ski competition.

I got the responsibility for the music equipment at Nørre G and controlled the sound system during every performance. I contacted Sexonauterne during the second year at Nørre G and became a member soon after, Sexonauterne is a youth to youth organisation doing voluntary teaching in sexuality related subjects as a supplement to the primary schools. The group of Sexonauterne is located at ‘Kraftwerket’ in Valby Copenhagen. The members of Sexonauterne are not educated teachers, just normal young men/women who find the teaching and communication interesting. I got a part time job at Shell through a friend and kept it during the rest of Gymnasium. The Peru group was still seeing each other and we decided to make another project. We did so during the summer 2001, this time in Scandinavia. The group already this summer planed to go back to Peru the next year. The second year in Gymnasium was all about planning the Peru project, applying for money and teach as a sexonaut. The group flew back to Peru the summer 2002. The Peru project finished here and I spend all my time in the third year to teach as a sexonaut and evaluate the Peru project.

I moved to Nørrebro when the time finally came and the Gymnasium was over. Here I gathered some work experience, I worked as a ‘face to face’ fundraiser, a substitute teacher in primary school, in a kinder garden, as a salesman at the news paper Politiken and as a waiter. Most of it was part time and combined with each other, but it all ended when I went to the military April the first. I was in the ‘medical company’ where I operated as a spokesman on a national level. As the government changed the rules for the military service I choose to go home and I started to work in an advertising agency named Halbye Kaag & Thompson. The winter was near by and my passion for snowboarding and the fact that I had to wait one year for applying for the KaosPilot, encouraged me to move to France, Val Thorens, to snowboard. I worked in a hotel/bar at night just to make a living. After France I wanted to go to England, therefore I needed some money, I moved from France to Vesterbro Copenhagen and worked as a postman. I moved to Brighton, England the first of September 2005, where I studied general English in use. From 12.09.05 – 03.03.06. I am currently situated in England working as a bartender in a pub. My planes from now depend on this application.

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
Through the School I got connected with a Dialogue project in San Francisco. It took place the 25-01-07 to the 05-02-07 and the subject was: How to approach conflicts in a Non-violent way.
We had some extremely intense days in San Francisco with youth from South Africa, Cyprus, New Zealand and USA. Here I realized how valuable the teaching at the Kaospilot is. the way to approach and interact with a teacher as we do and learn to do at the kaospilot was not known in the others culture. The different backgrounds in the youth group created a frustration from the students as well as from the teachers in the classroom. The way of dealing with this frustration became a process and because of the teaching at the kaospilot we managed to turn it into a positive learning experience. witch was very valuable for the whole project and brought us young people closer together.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?

I would like to work with conflict resolution and implementation of dialogues in everyday situations. How can you change the mindset of people to become more non-violent orientated? I would like to start my own firm but I also think it could be interesting to work within FN.

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
I have gained a lot from having lectures in how to receive and how to give feedback. I think everybody in the society should have that! think of your everyday life, how many times isn't there things that makes you angry, sad, happy or joyful? but how do you handle these situations? What is your reaction when someone tells you to behave differently? To have lectures in how to think about and deal with this could help many people and the society as i see it. At least it made me look different upon many things.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
There are so many things i would like to mention. The speed of Chinas growing economy, The big technology development and possibilities in web 2.0. The aftermath of the genocide in Rwanda. Most of my interest at the moment goes to a small clinic called Masanga in Sierra Leone that needs as much help as possible. www.masanga.dk

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
I spent two year at the University of Bergen, Norway and one year in Boston trying to finish my bachelor's degree within Communication Technology and New Media.

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
Sitting in a room with 70 guys trying to learn programming coding and databases. No fun - no good grade. Don´t know why I did it or what I´ll use it for later on in life. The most intense learning experience however must have both been the first semester at the Kaospilots for many reasons and being director of a theatre production while doing school full time. Best "hands-on" experience to date.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
I´d like to give IDEO a go. "When I grow up...." - I´m not sure yet. Hopefully I´ll discover some wicked characteristic while attending the school which will send me rocketing when I finish school...

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
Through allowing non-traditional approach to set standards and focusing on what you are capable of instead of what you already know.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
Globalization and how we perceived that term.It brings new variables to every decision we make and how we interact.

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
I’ve had days where I thought of myself as probably the most insightful person alive. Mostly that happened when I was teenager. I’ve had weeks where I felt like no one could ever love me. That mostly happened when I was a teenager as well. When I was thirteen or so, a girl told me for the first time how unbelievably in love she was with some other guy.
Luckily my mother spoiled me as a kid. She never stopped saying how much she loved me. I still believe that I’m the most important thing in the world. At least in her world.

My sister would probably say the same thing. During my years at high school I spent most of the time regretting not having done my homework.
When I was twenty I was on my own in Australia. Curiosity and lack of money made me stick out a thumb and surprisingly someone picked me up. Somewhere on a lonely road I lost track of how many times that happened. The year after someone dropped me off approximately at the same place I started. I flew home. Kenya is a beautiful country. I’ve discovered interesting things like these all over the world.
I’m not finished discovering.

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
Often, I’m still just a teenager. Sometimes that’s a good thing.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
Opinions. Giving people better ones.
If I could choose, I’d always work with people who are more intelligent than me, party with people who are less, and have sex with people who really know me. I’m working on figuring out where love fits in. Maybe everywhere.

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
No school should be the same tomorrow as it was yesterday.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
Someone somewhere is in love.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
As many others I want to save the world - more specific Africa.

"IIn what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
I was spending an amazing and challening year in Amsterdam, starting my "career" in the sustainability area first working for a bank and then working for an NGO.

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
The challenge in the Education is working with very different people with different backgrounds and views. As the education is team-based, you have to listen, you have to understand other's perspectives in order to perform as a team and learn from it.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
I plan to return to Brazil and start my own business with some of my close friends, some sort of Fourth Sector organization commited to think and propose solutions for Brazil's major complex issues.

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
All knowledge has caracter and the one who posses knowledge must have ethics and values when applying it in real-life. Other schools could learn how we embed values in our Education in order to create a better and more positive future for ourselves and all.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
There is a mind-shift happening, still slow but with increasing speed, where people are starting to realize and question the current system we live in, and making the changes by changing themselves - to a new worldview, new values, new lifestyle - which is compatible with the environment and sustainable by nature. This is not only positive but necessary if we expect to continue to exist as species in this planet.

When we had our singing workshop in first semester, I faced my biggest challenge ever. I am shit scared of singing, and after more or less a mental break down I did it! Wow, that was wild.

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
I am happy to say a can't answer this question. I don't know, this keeps me qurious about everything we learn and try as much different experiences out as possible.

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
By the hands on approach, this is one of the reasons I chose the KaosPilots, and what make me be so sure of what I can do when I leave the school. You have tried everything in real life that you have learned during your three years here.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
That it is the first of March today...which means spring time, more sun, warmer weather, blue sky, in general more happy people! This time of year inspires me very much, and I double my energy level instantly.

What's the most challenging and intense learning experience you've had during your education so far?
That must be the ProActive Planning and the BackBone Workshop. Two examples on how to evolve and get insight on ones flaws and downsides - it was personally extremely hard, but also crucial and very benefiting!

What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
I would like to work with organizational change and CSR. In my perspective, that's where a lot of the Danish Companies can evolve and grow in order to meet the changing world.

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?

Within the area of social innovation. In the western world with increased focus on higher earnings and personal gain - We all (in the western world) need to shift our focus from salary to social capital! The we must use our knowledge to teach developing countries, not to make our mistakes...

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?
As Christer (CEO) once said: Global warming - I think that the spin off's and the effort that some large corporations are willing to put into environmental protection is mind blowing. I know it's a bit crude, but I think that (at one point) the entire population of the world must realize that something must be done about pollution!

What did you do before you started at the KaosPilots?
I had my own advertising-event agency that focused on creating relations between the consumer and the business/brand and also creating intelligent marketing solutions addressed to young people. What and who do you want to work with after graduation?
I am still at my first year and have not yet defined the exact line of business that I want to work with. I have the desire for developing my own business and thereby creating and shaping my own future. I am passionate about making a business that is creating social value - especially for young people who need space for full-filling their dreams and ambitions.

In what areas can other schools be inspired by the KaosPilots?
What I love about the KaosPilots is that the school works with real life companies and that all theory is being tested by us students during our education: we learn by doing it and then by doing it once more. I believe that this makes us more equipped to deal with the real world when we graduate. Also the fact that the KaosPilots is a group based education that creates the space for personal development: The KaosPilots doesn't produce two of a kind.

What's the most inspiring thing happening in the world right now?

Hillary Clinton is running for President. If she wins, how will this effect the US society and the world and will this have an impact on female leaders and role-models in both the private and public sector?I have my fingers crossed.
