Kaospilot have turned 25, and among other things, celebrated this with a reception last Friday afternoon. At this event, they presented an innovation award and a gift for the city of Aarhus, which has been the hometown of the creative entrepreneurship and leadership school since it started in Mejlgade.

Business partners, businesspeople, curious Aarhus people and kaospilots from all over the word came to Filmbyen at Aarhus Port this afternoon to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kaospilot with a spectacular reception.

As part of the anniversary, Kaospilot have come up with the idea of an innovation award and a gift, which they gave to the mayor of Aarhus, Jacob Bundsgaard, during the reception.

New innovation award

In cooperation with JKS, Kaospilot has launched an innovation award, which will be handed out during the next three years. The award of dkr 100,000 will be given to a business which creates new jobs in a sustainable way.

”With this innovation award, we wish to shine a spotlight on the fact that a lot of innovation creates value, men not necessarily new jobs or sustainability. We would like to encourage more to focus on that,” says Christer Windeløv-Lidzélius, the headmaster at Kaospilot.

Gift for Aarhus

The gift for the hometown of Kaospilot was a large, handmade, pop-up book with a story about Aarhus.

”The message of the book is that we must all contribute so that Aarhus can develop new pro-active responses to the future challenges such as competitive performance and the ability to innovate. The second part of the gift is a concept that stimulates dialogue about how to turn innovation into a public matter,” explains Christer Windeløv-Lidzélius.

Chairman of the board of Kaospilot, Kim Klastrup, agrees:

”With this gift, we want to give something – a book and a concept – back til our town. Something that points forward but is based on our history. We must continue to innovate to secure the future we want,” says the chairman of the board.

As a part of the anniversary celebrations, Kaospilot has launched a new idea festival called Agenda. During two days, around 300 participants have taken part in workshops, talks, film screenings and installations around the Kaospilot home at the Aarhus port.
