Please introduce yourself (who are you and what do you do in your life)

My name is Anne-Sophie Elmo, and I am the founder of the “School To Go”-platform.

Our innovative platform brings school on demand for children, providing them with the best possible and flexible education experience.

Currently, I reside in the capital area of Denmark, where I am fully dedicated to building my startup. My passion for improving education, working with innovative technology, and utilizing my project management skills has led me to create School To Go (www.schooltogo.dk).

Over the past decade, I have gained valuable knowledge from working at innovative technology companies, at multiple schools as a teacher and observing the need in society for raising the bar on education. Using this as an outset I’m thrilled to work towards providing children with the best possible supplement to their education experience with quality, confidence and social impact as core values. The new Generation Alpha require this along with accessibility and mobility, which School To Go seeks to deliver.

Which team did you graduate from and when?

I graduated from Team 24 in 2020. Our team was a melting pot of mindsets and cultures, which allowed us to create innovative and impactful projects during our time at Kaospilot.

School To Go is a revolutionary solution that addresses the pressing issue of low mental wellbeing among students in public schools

What have you been doing since graduating as a Kaospilot?

Since graduating, I spent a few years working at one of the world’s leading edtech companies, utilizing cutting-edge technology, artificial intelligence and adaptive learning, to personalize learning experiences for companies. After three years, I made the jump to go after establishing School To Go, with the initial concept having been created during my time as a student at Kaospilots.

School To Go is an audio-based platform that allows students to listen to their curriculum, instructed by a teacher, no matter where they are or what school they attend. We understand the negative impact of screen time on children’s well-being and eyesight, which is why we have created a screen-free learning experience. Our platform offers all 14 traditional subjects and 10 modern subjects, including e.g., problem-solving, creative thinking, and collaboration.

We have seen a significant interest from schools, teachers, parents, and students alike, as we strive to provide a flexible and differentiated learning experience. With 10% of students having dyslexia and up to 50% experiencing learning disadvantages, we believe that personalized learning is the way forward. Our platform allows students to jump to a higher or lower level in their chosen subject, making it a truly flexible and inclusive learning experience.

School To Go is a revolutionary solution that addresses the pressing issue of low mental wellbeing among students in public schools. With a staggering 16-21% of students experiencing poor mental health, it is high time we take action to improve their overall wellbeing.

Additionally, 21% of students move to private schools due to the lack of satisfaction with critical tasks in public schools.

As we continue to grow and scale up, we are excited about the journey ahead and the impact we can make on the education system.

The good and interesting feature is that, School To Go offers a unique approach that does not require a teacher or adult to be physically present with the learner. Instead, the guiding teacher or adult is already in the student’s ear, providing personalized guidance and support.
The goal is to offer quality education to all children, with as few and effective resources as possible.

What do you value in your job?

For me, a fulfilling job involves a sense of ownership, and actively participate in strategy and communication. I also appreciate a flexible work schedule that allows for a healthy (work-)life balance. Additionally, I thrive under supportive management that provides guidance when needed, while also empowering me to take ownership of my work.

I am motivated by the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and methods, and to collaborate with colleagues, who possess a diverse set of skills to achieve a shared vision.

What leadership lessons have you learned from your experience?

As a leader of a team of 40 individuals I was responsible for managing a workshop for over 900 people. Here I gained valuable experience in managing people and projects.

This experience taught me the importance of understanding and fostering positive relationships, effective communication, strategic thinking, and a results-oriented approach.

Additionally, I learned the importance of understanding the operational aspects of a project and how to motivate individuals to bring their unique skills to the table.

These lessons have shaped me into a more empathetic and effective leader.

What is currently your biggest source of inspiration?

As a creative individual, I find it essential to immerse myself in the world around me. This includes exploring different cultures, observing people’s daily lives, and admiring various forms of art, such as indoor and outdoor museums, installations, and thought-provoking pieces that reflect society or inspire to build a new society.

I also have a passion for traveling and discovering new political landscapes that offer unique perspectives. Additionally, I attend inspirational conferences, such as the entrepreneur camp Seedster in Marbella, and lectures on modern topics, like being a Hybrid Human using the newest technology. I also enjoy reading bestsellers on modern topics, but also ancient philosophy.

By combining all of these input and experiences, I create a puzzle that come together to form a melting pot of perspectives, ultimately leading to a new vision.

What would be an example of a learning or an experience from your time at Kaospilot that has been important to you?

It was an absolute pleasure to be stationed at the outpost, where I had the opportunity to work alongside a team of professionals from different parts of the world. This experience has broadened my perspective on the possibilities available to me in building my future.

Secondly, during my placement/internship, I had the privilege of working in an environment where I was involved in the planning and execution of a national event with an international audience. This experience has taught me how to incorporate an international level to projects and how to reach a new audience by creating an event that not only caters to practical needs but also speaks to the emotions and future demands of citizens of the world.

Overall, these experiences have been invaluable in terms of personal and professional growth, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.

This process will transform you into a creative Kaospilot, capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes your way

What is a piece of advice that you would like to give future Kaospilot graduates?

The most valuable advice I can offer is to recognize the immerse potential of your network, skills, and creative abilities, and then take action to build upon them. If you have a vision for a particular industry, or a desire to connect with specific individuals, or even to create something entirely new, then take the first step towards realizing your goals. Along the way, refine your ideas, theories, and passions to discover your true sense of purpose. Seize opportunities, be brave and take risks, and don’t hesitate to seek guidance from others often. This process will transform you into a creative Kaospilot, capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes your way. It will also help you develop the character and resilience necessary to make a meaningful impact on the world.

The Kaospilots program is like a playground with the amazing frames to unleash your full potential and create the most innovative project management solutions imaginable. To achieve this, it’s essential to surround yourself with experts in their respective fields, allowing you to focus on your core skills and execute your projects at the highest level possible.  Also, don’t hesitate to hire the best and brightest, and together, you can achieve greatness. Remember, success comes to those who are willing to put in the work, creativity and dedication required to make their dreams a reality.
