Program overview

Speaking in front of others is an important part of many jobs. Leaders, entrepreneurs, facilitators, teachers, consultants and many others spend crucial time in the spotlight conveying messages, leading dialogues, motivating teams or calling their people to action. Success and wellbeing often depends on good presentation skills and the ability to find joy and courage as a communicator.

In this experiential course, you will learn tools and techniques to unlock your connection, empathy, and imagination when speaking in front of others. With the benefit of a small group setting, you will learn to be fully present in the moment and transform fear and insecurity into joy and courage.

This unique program will help you develop new skills by working through the body and through stories. It is all about discovering and unlocking the resources that are available in the moment – inside of yourself, in the team and in the situation. You will leave this training with the joy of expressing yourself and the courage to speak from your heart.

Content

The Powerful Presence course is made up of three parts that build on top of each other. Peer and group feedback are key components of this course. In addition to the collective setting, you will also benefit from a 1 on 1 personalized online meeting with your trainer before the course and a group meeting afterward to celebrate learnings.

Part 1

Building the foundation: Unlock your leadership voice

In the first module you will get tools and techniques to cut through the internal noise, connect to your audience and share your natural charisma when communicating. You will learn practices to tame the fears that keep you from being fully present in the moment. You will learn to stand in the spotlight without a manuscript but with presence, calmness and the deeper certainty that you will find just the right words and expression.

Part 2

Developing more skills: Find your freedom in expression

In the second module you will expand your repertoire of expression using both body, voice and the space. You will learn how to hold the attention of your audience and how to create deeper resonance and connection with others. You will learn the power of storytelling as a way of expressing natural authority and how to work with musicality, tempo and range of voice to bring more play, joy and life-fulness to your public speaking.

Part 3

Moving your audience: Build bridges of trust and courage

In part 3 you will explore how to create connections of trust and how to access emotional ressources for action. You will learn how to create a home for others in the way you communicate by inviting people into a safe space, and opening up for presence, joy and courage. You will be invited to work with your own stories and get tools for how to turn your story into the right invitation and a call for action. Part 3 offers you the opportunity to strengthen and refine the best of what you have learned and to bring professional challenges to the floor. Paul Natorp will be co-facilitating Part 3.

What is Powerful Presence?
Powerful Presence is a three-part professional course offered by Kaospilot. Each of the three parts are two-day courses with the option to take part 1 and 2 back to back. Part 1 teaches the essentials to unlock your leadership voice. Part 2 teaches additional techniques to help you find freedom in expression. Part 3 teaches more techniques to connect to your audience, to create a safe space and to call to action.

All parts of the course expand your suite of communication skills as well as presentation skills.

Is Powerful Presence part 1 a requirement for Powerful Presence part 2 and 3?
Yes. Part 2 and 3 build on tools and techniques introduced in Part 1. These are foundational to the advanced content in Part 2 and 3.
