Creative Leadership – Masterclass Tokyo
Leadership that enables creative collaboration
Masterclass Outline
Creative Leadership is a training program designed to enable teams to collaborate, co-create, and develop more effectively. Rather than focusing on individual performance, this approach aims to access collective creative intelligence, where the combined experience and creativity of the group become the primary resource. In this framework, leadership is viewed not as a title or a formal role, but as a function that anyone in a team can take. It is a way of showing up, believing in the group’s capabilities, and communicating to evoke a culture of mutual support.
This masterclass gives you the fundamental skills to practice creative leadership and a strategic framework to build a new creative culture in your team.

Learning outcomes
The masterclass builds creative leadership confidence through three levels of development: Mindset, skillset, and task.
Mindset: Believing that challenges can be turned in to opportunities and that paths to outcomes must be co-created.
Skillset: Mastering listening and questioning that encourages exploration rather than just downloading known information.
The Leadership Task: Learning how to create strong connections in teams and lead through the uncertainties of innovation to achieve breakthroughs characterized by new thinking and shared ownership
The masterclass also itnroduces a strategic framework to build a new creative culture in teams and organizations.
Learning structure
The only way to learn creative leadership is to live it. Therefore, the training is highly practical, action-oriented, and focused on reflection. We do not use PowerPoints or long presentations; instead, we use simple thinking models to support a ‘practice-what-you-preach’ attitude and a light and fun atmosphere. This ensures that the mindset and skills are not just taught but are lived experiences that are immediately transferable to the participants daily work.
Day 1 - Skills
Designing the Alliance: Setting the intention, rules of engagement, and a supportive learning culture.
Experiencing Co-creation: Practical exercises that allow the team to feel what collective creativity actually entails.
Building personal skills: Intensive training in listening, questioning, connection, leading space.
Day 2 - Strategies
Creative mini-projekt: Team based creative assignment provides the opportunity to practice skills and experience co-creation on a new level.
Building creative cultures: Strategies for more experimentation, learning and joy in teams.

Is This For Me?
This program is for everyone who wants to increase the creative potential of their teams and organizations. It is designed for those looking for new ways to navigate complexity and unpredictability, and for those who wish to nurture a strong culture of learning and innovation. Because we believe you can “lead from any chair,” the training is just as relevant for team members as it is for senior executives. It is ideal for those looking to create motivated, self-directed teams that work towards shared goals in complex environments.
Testimonials
The Creative Leadership journey was an amazing and transformative learning experience. It balances interesting concepts, theories and energizing hands-on exercises that allow us to actually be immersed and absorb everything that is shared with us. Also, David’s and Paul’s generosity when leading the course makes the whole journey unique and memorable. Many of the ideas I’ve learned still resonate with me and always help me to unframe situations and find other perspectives.

Approach
Kaospilot is a design school in Denmark known for its innovative approach to learning focusing on personal leadership, creativity and collaboration. The school has a unique history of growing out of a grass root movement in a moment of significant societal change. And the training builds on that heritage by practising an informal kind of leadership that supports a culture of experimentation and co-creation. The trainers have a “practise-what-you-preach” attitude, which allows participants to become part of an immersive learning experience where new mindset and skills are not only taught but lived.
