Elevate your skills as a learning designer and become a 'Master Archer'.
Program Overview
Building on the first masterclass, Designing and Facilitating Learning Spaces – Part 2 aims to strengthen your ability to execute experiential learning journeys. We will all be working in an experimental setting where you will be hands-on with the concept of Learning Arches to enable you to master the technique.
This is a four-day masterclass aimed at educators and trainers who want to get hands-on experience, and are keen to dive into designing and delivering learning strategies. Testimonials
“One of the things I appreciated the most was the risk of actual failure; the sense of unpredictability. All courses promise certain results, how refreshing is it when a situation is created where no one knows where it will lead us? That’s not a journey, that’s an expedition.”
Patrick van Aalst, Educational Designer, Netherlands
“(…) We practiced all the KAOSPILOT ways of designing learning arches. It was challenging and fun. And most importantly I learned so much! Changing between the roles of being a teacher and a student was an eye-opening experience. I could suddenly see a lot of problems that my students are going through due to an unbalanced program. I felt the confusion that arises when the learning arch is not well designed. And the relief when the arch was constructed well. It was mind-blowing how little adjustments could make all the difference: Taking just a little more time to set or land makes an exercise work or fail. And it was really scary to see how content-driven we as teachers are. The course gave me so many new tools I can use right away with my students.”
Yvette Fijen, Academic leader, Amsterdam Theatre Academy: Netherlands
“I have discovered something: In Barcelona, people worried too much about confusion and things they didn’t know. Such anxiety was strange to me and I started to think. If we want to grow and develop, we need to be confused or we will no longer seek to learn. When everything is clear there will be no need to ask questions. I discovered that I have to raise my level of confusion and I invented a new motto for myself: I am still confused but at a higher level!”
Merike Rehepapp, Academic Leader: Estonia
Approach
The unique Kaospilot approach is built around a rigorous training platform that dynamically combines practise, reflection and theory. You will be applying tools and theory, which you will learn about through practical exercises. Our approach enables you to acquire different mindsets to apply to your work. This includes experimentation, exploration and taking initiative.
You will have the opportunity to talk about your ideas for pedagogical and methodological change, but also to practice and develop these. The program will radically change your approach, and help you to grow as an individual and to gain new perspectives.
