Designing for Sustainable Behavioral Change
Project Challenge
Sitra’s Positive Sustainable Lifestyle (PSL) test had reached nearly 2 million users and expanded to 8 other European countries. The challenge was to create meaningful and deep follow-up experiences that could deepen and extend behavioral change. The team wanted to go beyond nudging and into design for transformation.
Context
Sitra invited Kaospilot, and we brought in Kindmind, to build the PSL team’s capacity to design transformative experiences—before and after users take the PSL tool—drawing from behavioral science, education, and experience design.
Description
We facilitated a capacity-building program for the PSL team focused on experience design for behavior change. Using a mix of learning experience design, emotional design, and digital experience tools, we helped teams prototype new interventions to support sustainable living.
Change / Outcome
- 5 cross-functional teams designed and prototyped new experiences to drive engagement before and after the digital PSL tool and to ultimately plant the seeds for behavioral change .
- Participants gained concrete tools and frameworks to design emotionally resonant and scalable experiences.
- The training helped embed a culture of iterative design and systems thinking within the PSL team.
