The Future leaders program – Metro

Project challenge

To prepare the next generation of leaders at METRO AG to navigate and succeed in an increasingly complex and fast-changing business environment. The goal was to equip them with the skills, mindset, and resilience needed to tackle future challenges, drive innovation, and lead with confidence in times of uncertainty.

Program Description

This program was designed internally for the German multinational company METRO AG. The Future Leaders Programfocused specifically on Disruptive Leadership, aiming to equip emerging leaders with the skills and mindset needed to tackle future challenges and make a lasting impact.

The training centred around a competence model based on two core areas:

  • Team Leadership, which focused on developing a growth mindset and building trust.
  • Entrepreneurship, which emphasized problem-solving and results orientation.

This competence model formed the foundation for the program’s three modules:

Module 1: Leading Between Disorder and Order

Module 2: Leading Between the Obvious and the Complicated

Module 3: Leading Between the Chaotic and the Complex

Throughout the program, participants were guided through practical scenarios and exercises designed to explore and experience these different leadership challenges.

Outcome:

100 talented leaders prepared and ready for C-level leadership roles.
