The Netflix of Online Courses on Sustainable Development
What are you currently working on?
The Danish small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) are lacking behind on the sustainability agenda. SME’s in Denmark are the companies with less than 250 employees, and surveys show that 2/3 or 200.000 out of the 300.000 SME´s do not have the required knowledge to address and work with the Sustainable Development Goals.
SME’s account for 98% of all companies in Denmark, so this imbalance is a huge threat to reaching the SDGs and our climate goals of 70% CO2 reduction by 2030.
The SME’s are ready for change and want to learn. But few solutions and little help is available as the SME’s do not have the same amount of resources to pay for external help, and they are also not planning 5, 10, or 20 years ahead, in comparison to large enterprises. This opens a huge market gap in Denmark, which is now behind as a global leader in sustainable development. It gives me chills to think about this gap and potential, globally.
What is your solution to this problem?
My solution is to give easy, cheap, and scalable access to the knowledge and tools that are needed to start working with sustainable change. Via digitalization, I am providing access to the preexisting knowledge and tools from consultants and experts.
I am creating a subscription-based e-learning platform where experts can share their knowledge, curated in a tangible and actionable manner. Expert consultants are not always the best communicators, but their knowledge is extremely valuable. I am providing the necessary platform, format, and skills for the experts to get their knowledge out to the hundreds of thousands of SME leaders.
What did The Kaospilot Education (Formerly “Enterprising Leadership”) provide you that makes it easier for you to solve this problem? / How do you use what you have learned in school in your everyday work life?
I have been passionate about creating sustainable change before I started the program. The Kaospilots have helped me to understand the system at large, seeing the real problems and designing solutions in a way that is meeting the target group where they are. This education has also allowed me to develop my skills and abilities so that I could knit them together in a way that makes me love what I do.
I can make a living from it, it is something I am good at, and it is something that people and the world needs.
My Kaospilot education has provided me with the skills and experience to address and constantly work with, and overcome challenges. I meet the world today with curiosity and empathy, which I did not before, and that is opening new doors to my career.
