A New Chapter at Kaospilot
Kaospilot is currently undergoing an institutional transition involving financial, organisational, and strategic shifts.
In recent years, the school has taken important steps to strengthen its position as an independent education. This has included a new board, an updated curriculum, a developing strategic direction and the move to Stenbroen in Aarhus.
Under the leadership of Ulla Grøn, Kaospilot has been guided through this period of change and development. Important progress has been made, while at the same time different perspectives have emerged regarding leadership, governance, and the direction needed for the next phase.
Now Ulla has decided to move on:
“Kaospilot is a unique education, built to navigate complexity and create meaningful change. I came in to strengthen and challenge Kaospilot, and to help move it forward – and that is what we have done. It has been deeply engaging and at times a bit chaotic in the best Kaospilot way. I leave this chapter with respect for the many people who have shaped it through dialogue, collaboration, and a shared commitment to meaningful work – across Kaospilot, among our partners, and within the wider Aarhus community. And lasting confidence in our students, who continue to inspire hope and action.”
This transition also includes part of the Board.
Chair of the Board, Christian Bay, says:
“Ulla Grøn has led Kaospilot through an important and complex phase with dedication and persistence. She has helped move key initiatives forward and strengthened the basis we continue building from today. We thank Ulla for her significant and dedicated contribution.
In the recent period of change, the Board and leadership have worked diligently to create stability, strengthen the external position of Kaospilot, and establish a sustainable long-term foundation. However, the external Board members have concluded that the institution is now moving toward a different leadership and governance direction than the one on which our engagement was based. We have therefore decided not to continue after the upcoming General Assembly in June.
Head of Studies, Federico Bortoletto, has been appointed as interim principal, and we remain committed to supporting a responsible transition and stable handover process.”
Interim Principal, Federico Bortoletto, says:
“Kaospilot is a place that is continually shaped by the students, alumni, staff, and community who choose it. I’m stepping into this role with care for that community and trust in the road ahead. There’s real work to do, and we’ll meet it the way we always have – together.”
Kaospilot continues the work of developing and building out key strategic initiatives together with all the people who play an essential role in shaping what comes next.
